The last week or so has been pretty quiet on Pretty in Peeptoes as I haven’t been feeling that great and I also had to prepare and go on my big sister’s hen party in Newcastle, (which was hilarious!).
I have finally had the chance to sit down and write a review about my second Glossybox and the products I really liked and the ones that I really didn’t.
I was really happy to see this lipstick in this months box because I am on a search for a pink lipstick, however I was really disappointed after trying this a few times.
Firstly, it doesn’t really match my skin tone that well, (not that that’s a fault of the lipstick more my skin!), but the main reason I do not like this is it seemed to be really patchy and chalky once applied.
Because of these reasons I have not really worn this lipstick and I don’t think I will.
The only up side to this is it smells amazing, which did make me want to lick it all off after applying it to my lips!
It’s a real shame that this product was not as good as I wanted it to be because I have used a few of the Collection products and they are really great.
I have never used this brand of products before but I have seen them around as they always pop up as a recommended page that I should like on Facebook!
This is a product you apply after shaving which helps to prevent ingrown hairs, reduce your hair growth and sooth after waxing or shaving.
I have only had the chance to use it a couple of times but as I do sometimes suffer with ingrown hairs I have found this product to really help with this.
I have not noticed any reduction in hair growth but I am going to keep using this to see if it does make a difference.
Another thing that I really like about this product is that it is advertised on the packaging that Sass products are not tested on animals.
You may have read a previous review I wrote about MeMeMe cosmetics, (if not you can read it here!), in that review I was unsure about one of the products I received and I think I am exactly the same again.
I dyed my hair to grey so I could play around a bit more with my make up so I was excited to see this blue colour in my box.
I like the colour and the longevity of the product, trust me it is really difficult to remove but I think that this being a pencil puts me off.
I found I could not make the product do what I wanted as the pencil is so chunky, I know some people may like this but I prefer a little more precision when I apply eye make up which is why I normally use powder eye shadows and brushes.
I am going to try and use this again with a brush…if I can, but I would of preferred this to be a smaller pencil so you can apply more if needed instead of struggling with the size.
This has to be my new favourite product!
As I have coloured hair, I don’t wash my hair as much as other people so I do use dry shampoo, a lot but I have always found that when you use dry shampoo, (especially when your in a rush), you can see the power residue on your hair.
With this product that is a thing of the past!
This is not a brand I have heard of before but I wish I had found out about them sooner because I have been using this every few days and it is so easy to use.
This product is also so simple to use, all you do is apply to your scalp, give yourself a little massage to rub it in and then towel off the rest of your foam to leave your hair looking and smelling clean again.
I received the apple scent in my box, you can also get strawberry, and it is lovely. I have found my hair smells clean and feels as soft as if I have just washed it.
I’m now saying goodbye to aerosol dry shampoo and using this instead.
I don’t normally think of buying Aloe Vera products whilst in the UK as I normally only purchase them abroad if I have been naughty and got a little sun burnt however I think that might just be changing.
This gel is from a German company whose main goal of a product is quality and from what I have seen from this product that is something I believe they do well.
As you would expect from a hen party I drank a lot over the past weekend and when I do drink I find my skin always feels incredibly dry and dehydrated. I have been using this on my body. and I was surprised to find it only took a day or so to get my skin feeling soft and rehydrated again!
According to the site/packaging this product can revive the skin, improve skin elasticity and fat tightening, (maybe a bad translation on the packaging?). I have found the first 2 to be true but I have not noticed any of my fat to be tightening so I will keep using this and see if this changes!
I do like this months box but I was trialling Glossybox to see if it would be a suitable replacement to my Birchbox as I was not happy with the products I was receiving, but to be perfectly honest Glossybox has not really lived up to my expectations.
I am going to get one more month of both boxes but after that I think I will be sticking with my Birchbox for multiple reasons including how the quality of the boxes have improved and the points reward scheme for having the subscription and completing the monthly surveys.
Do you get any beauty boxes? Which box is your favourite?
